WHAT IS APNI PATHSHALA?
Apni Pathshala is a nonprofit startup building a nationwide community microschool network with leaders, NGOs, and schools. Each POD operates as a small local digital learning center with 10 computers, ongoing guidance, and curated open-source learning resources. From Jammu & Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, and from Gujarat to Nagaland, we provide computers, support, and exposure to every POD.

Exposure
We add each POD to a growing network 100+ learning pods from Mumbai to Nagaland, Kashmir to Kerala. We provide digital exposure and practical guidance on growth, from CSR funding awareness to day-to-day operational skills. Schools, individuals, and organisations receive context-specific insights, and we amplify local classrooms so they reach more learners.
Software
Every Apna PC comes with carefully selected educational technology and tools. Student Safety Software helps protect children from harmful websites to keep learning safe. Students can use our personal AI system Eklavya, created to help children learn. We train leaders to use these tools at different learning levels for a rich, consistent experience.
Hardware
Each POD receives a complete 10 Apna PC setup, with headphones, webcams, and technical support so classes run smoothly. Our tech team resolves issues quickly, so learning never stops. Autonomy
Our model helps each POD become self-sustainable. We equip leaders with the resources, tools, training, and strategies to run independently. We incubate each POD closely, learn from new challenges, and share best practices across the community. This empowers PODs to adapt, innovate, and keep impacting lives long after setup.

What is a POD?
A POD is a digital learning center run by NGOs, schools, and individuals in partnership with Apni Pathshala. These centers are part of our larger microschool community.
Who can start an Apni Pathshala POD?
NGOs, schools, community leaders, teachers, and anyone who can provide a safe space with basic infrastructure meet our eligibility requirements.
What do I need to know before applying?
You will need a dedicated room, power supply, internet, and a committed team led by a POD leader to run the classroom. We provide resources and guidance for planning and operations.
What resources do I get from Apni Pathshala?
You receive mentorship, the Apna PC setup (10 PCs with peripherals) on lease, curated learning resources, and ongoing technical support.
Can I charge a fee from my students?
Yes, PODs may charge reasonable fees to cover local costs and maintain the sustainability of the centre. However, students must not be overcharged.
Can the POD receive additional PCs?
Yes, but only after evaluating the POD’s performance and its impact on students and the community.
Are the PCs given for free?
No. PCs are provided on lease, not as donations.
Does the POD need to pay anything to Apni Pathshala?
We do not charge any fees or commissions for the Apna PC setup. PODs are responsible for their own local costs and fee structures. If anyone asks for money, please report it immediately to team@apnipathshala.org
